Dearest friends, first of all let me start with an apology. It has been far too long since I last communicated with you regarding the progress of our little film. The last time we spoke in July there were all kinds of grandiose plans afoot to kick on with the project ahead of trying to release before xmas 2015. Unfortunately, in the words of John Lennon, life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.
It was an awful summer for me personally and due to circumstances outside of my control, Looking For Number 5 had to be mothballed until I got at least a semblance of normality and sanity back into my life. I was made redundant from the job I’ve held in the education sector for the last 7 years and this hit me like the train I’m sitting on right now as I type these words. I’ve not been unemployed since 2001 and as anyone who has been in that position knows, it’s bloody awful.
I’ve spent the majority of the last few months applying for various jobs, working as a musician part time and being a full time father to my two young sons, while my ever supportive wife tried to get her own business off the ground by working 50 hour weeks. I’m sure you can all appreciate the situation I was in and why it was necessary to put LFN5 to one side and concentrate on the important things in my life.
In classic sods law timing our film crew, Unified Media also got very busy with fully paid professional jobs which had to take precedence over a film they’re now essentially making for free for us as a favour.
Anyway, it’s October now and while we’ve added some bits of footage over the last few months. we’ve been pretty dormant for a while until now. I’m happy to say I’m in employment and the Unified Media lads, while still busy, have some time to dedicate to LFN5. We’ll hopefully be releasing a new trailer for the film in the next few weeks so you can see exactly what we have been doing with the money you kindly pledged almost a year ago!
I’ll be back in touch soon with more news, thanks for your patience.
